Three Days in L.A.

I had the extraordinary pleasure of spending 3 days in Los Angeles with my sister recently. This was my first time in La La Land. We only had a short time, but I think we made the most of it! Wanna see what we got up to?

The moment we got to L.A., we had to hit the beach! (We did stop in to our hotel of course, but that itself is worthy of another post.) We wandered to the infamous and super touristy Santa Monica Pier. You gotta do it. Forrest Gump did…well, he ran there. Rode the ferris wheel, noshed at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and I held two, yes TWO… boa constrictors… AT ONCE! Eeek! To fulfill my shopping fix we cruised the 3rd Street Promenade, which has a ton of great shops, including the LA based Kitson. Super fun shop!

Los Angeles is a huge place! Did you know its population is the second largest in the country, following New York City? To maximize our L.A. experience we did a bus tour with Amazing L.A. Tours, which I would highly recommend. Our tour guide, Charlie-the-Actor, was fun and knowledgeable about landmarks, pop culture,ย movie facts andย celebrity gossip. We cruised Rodeo Drive, Hollywood Boulevard and the Walk of Fame. Last stop was a viewpoint on Mullholland Drive for photos of the Hollywood sign.

On the recommendation of my friend Tracey, we rented bicycles one day and rode to Venice Beach. That was the best idea! Thank you, Tracey! I haven’t sat on a bicycle in 15 years and it is like they say… you never forget. It was a blast! There sure are some… uh… interesting people down there at Venice Beach! ;) Side of the road vendors were selling everything from hip hop CDs to painted driftwood to cardboard panhandler signs! I’ve never seen so many hookah pipes in all my life….and I’m from Vancouver! If we had more time we would have kept on peddling down the beach until we could peddle no more, but sadly it was our last day.

Want to go back!

Stay tuned to see where we stayed and ate in L.A.!

Luv Meesh xo

Oh I am super glad you rented bikes!!! That is my hubby’s favorite thing to do while there. IF you go again, you must, must, must go check out Abbott Kinney street. Amazing!!! That’s where that crazy cake stand store is. I am so happy you had fun. Trust me, you’ll start to crave it again soon. Have a good week Meesh and give Rubee and big hug!!!

  8. I have wanted to go to LA forever and your photos have just made me want to be there even more! I love the sound of hiring a bike and exploring, I think itโ€™s the best way to see a new town because you can do it at your own leisurely pace (especially if the bike is as cute as that orange beauty)!

  9. Looks like a Great time away with the SIS!
